Nice Addition

I was anxious to find out what all the buzz was about in North Central move-in Anthony Kidston. He averaged 18 points per game as a freshman last year but it was in the Buckeye Border Conference, a league that doesn’t always get the respect it might deserve.

What would he do against better competition?

If Friday’s win over Napoleon is any indication the answer to the above question is easy. Pretty good.

He took seven seconds to take – and hit – his first shot with the Bulldogs, a 3-pointer from the top of the key. He scored 11 points in the first quarter and added a slam dunk to start the second quarter.

If his defense can improve – and knowing DHS coach Kirk Lehman it will be a topic stressed heavily in the coming weeks – Kidston will prove he can play with the best in the WBL.

Anthony had a great game last night. Stepped it up and acted like he was comfortable with his teammates from the first tip-off. Doesn’t hurt when you’ve played travel baseball with Steve, Dace and Alex when they were in Jr. High. Hopefully the success continues and the Bulldogs will keep it rolling.
