Heading into Friday’s game against Lima Bath, Swanson has 1,301 yards on the season, the 7th most ever in a season at DHS.

All heart, no quit

I just wanted to take a minute and congratulate the Lady Bulldogs on a hard fought season. It was a season full of personal growth and teamwork. Not once did they ever back down or give up on themselves. They gave 110% every time they stepped out on the court. Great job ladies, you have much to be proud of!

Solid effort

I haven’t talked a lot about Sean Murray this season for the Bulldogs, but he gave great effort in Friday’s 28-21 loss to Elida. The senior signal-caller rushed for a season-high 156 yards and two touchdowns, while also hitting 13-of-16 passes for 123 yards. Murray ran hard and did everything he could to try and lead Defiance to the win. Great effort Sean.

McAdams outstanding

Elida quarterback Reggie McAdams was outstanding on Friday night in leading his team to a 28-21 victory over Defiance. McAdams was 9-of-17 passing for 199 yards and 3 TDs, while also rushing for 63 yards and another score. McAdams, just a sophomore who is also a standout in basketball, was cool under pressure in the final 1:22 of the game, leading his team to the victory. Austin Etzler was also outstanding, diving for the ball and coming up with the game-winning TD on a deflected pass.

Defiance lost to Elida for the first time since 2004 when Austin Etzler came up with a Reggie McAdams 29-yard TD pass intended for Derek Cunningham with 14 seconds to play that led Elida to a 28-21 victory over Defiance.
