Hardy steps down at Holgate

17 February 2009 No Comment

After 11 seasons at the helm of the Holgate Tigers, head coach Arnie Hardy has officially resigned on Monday. For the official scoop check out my boy Kevin Eis’ story on the main C-N web page (www.crescent-news.com) During his time, Hardy had less than 30 wins on the Tigers’ sidelines, but given his circumstances, those 30 wins may be overachieving. Take last season when the Tigers had only

17 players. Despite the lack of numbers, the Tigers were the hardest-playing team I saw on film all season (or close to it anyways), unfortunately with only 17 kids and most of them going both ways fatigue was huge in the second half.

For Hardy, a graduate of Holgate and a I believe a member of their one playoff team, I know the lack of success had to be hard to accept. So good luck coach Hardy in your future endeavors, I’m sure we’ll see you on the sidelines sometime in the future.

And to the next Holgate coach, hopefully you can recruit more players walking the Holgate hallways and remember Rome wasn’t built in a day
